Niall Stanage is the author of Redemption Song: An Irish Reporter Inside the Obama Campaign (Liberties Press, Dublin).

A native of Belfast, Niall has covered the U.S. since 2003 for The Sunday Business Post. Redemption Song grew out of his extensive reporting on Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign for The New York Observer. These days, his U.S. journalism appears mostly in Salon.

He is a former editor of Magill magazine, and his writing has been published in The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, The Guardian, The American Spectator, The Irish Times and The Irish Independent among many other titles.

He is also a frequent contributor to TV and radio shows on both sides of the Atlantic, including broadcasters like PBS, Fox News, the BBC and its Irish equivalent, RTE.

He lives in Harlem, New York.
